June 30, 2010

Cox & Palmer congratulates Glen L.C. Noel, partner in the St. John’s office on his appointment as President of The Law Society of Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Law Society is the regulatory body for the legal profession in the province and is governed by the Bencher, who are elected from among their colleagues at the Bar and appointed by persons from the public. The Law Society works to protect the public interest in the delivery of independent and quality legal services.

Glen was first elected to Benchers in 2002 and re-elected for a second four year term in 2006. He has served and chaired several committees of Benchers and is a regular presenter at the Law Society’s Bar Admission Course for students-at-law.

Glen is a graduate of Memorial University (1985) and Dalhousie Law School (1990). Since his call to the Bar in 1991, he has developed an extensive practice in Civil Litigation and has appeared before all levels of Courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Outside of his legal practice, Glen serves on the Board of St. John’s Minor Hockey Association.
