Cox & Palmer is pleased to be recognized by the Globe and Mail as a top 200 firm in Canada 2023.

Canada’s Best Law Firms 2023 ranking was determined through broad surveys (administered by Statista) that gathered recommendations from close to 25,000 legal professionals across Canada. Only 200 firms have been recognized in 29 practice areas as the most recommended.

In addition to 78 lawyers listed as Best Lawyers, the firm has 11 “Lawyer of the Year” acknowledgements for 2023. This recognition, given to lawyers who receive the highest overall peer-feedback, is bestowed upon one lawyer from each practice area, in each geographic region.

Each year the Best Lawyers in Canada recognizes a single top firm for its work in a particular practice area in Canada. Cox & Palmer was recognized by the publication as the 2022 Law Firm of the Year for Insurance Law. The awards are based on a variety of criteria, including feedback from lawyer ballots, the overall number of lawyers recognized, the firm’s geographic reach, past Lawyer of the Year awards track record and the firm’s overall scope and areas of expertise.

Since 1997, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory has identified counsel who are considered the top lawyers in various practice areas. This year, 92 of Cox & Palmer’s lawyers were Lexpert ranked.

The directory identifies which counsel are considered the top lawyers in various practice areas, and targets lawyers who are regarded as leaders in their field, are considered preeminent in professional organizations, or those with substantial recognition by their colleagues.

Cox & Palmer was named Atlantic Canada Law Firm of the Year at the inaugural Canadian Law Awards, in 2020.

Presented by Key Media, the Canadian Law Awards recognize the nation’s leading law firms, in-house legal teams, individuals, and landmark deals over the past year. Decisions were based on nominations made by law firms, lawyers and in-house legal teams, across 30 award categories that were reviewed by an independent judging panel.
