Tyler Murphy is an associate lawyer at Cox & Palmer, based in the firm’s St. John’s office. Since being called to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in June 2025, Tyler has been building a practice focused primarily on corporate and commercial law, energy and natural resources and maritime law.

Prior to earning his Juris Doctor from the University of New Brunswick in 2024, Tyler received a Bachelor of Recreation and Sport Studies (Management) from the University of New Brunswick in 2019, and a Master of Legal Studies (Sports Law) from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 2020. Tyler’s introduction to law during his master’s program sparked a lasting interest in the field and set him on a path toward a legal career focused on guiding clients through complex business and legal matters.

Outside of his legal practice, Tyler remains invested in the world of sports as a devoted fan and stays active by playing hockey and working on his golf game.
