BIO

Krystyn is an associate lawyer in the Moncton office of Cox and Palmer. Before completing her legal education, she obtained an Honors Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Western Ontario. She obtained her LLB from the University of Windsor, and her JD from the University of Detroit in 2008. Krystyn articled in Hamilton, Ontario, was called to the Ontario bar in 2009, and was admitted to the New York Bar in 2013. Krystyn worked in boutique litigation firm in Toronto doing state accountability and work with First Nations prior to working for a First Nation Political Territorial Organization in Northern Ontario.

Krystyn is in the process of finalizing her transfer to the New Brunswick Bar, and is eager to bring her client-focused experience to Cox and Palmer in the area of corporate and commercial law.

Experience

  • Counsel to 77 Northern and Remote Ontario First Nations in the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) National Inquiry;
  • Support of Nishnawbe Aski Nation intervention in First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada et al and Attorney General of Canada – negotiations and mediation;
  • First Nations policing work in Ontario (general corporate matters, employment, funding negotiations, legislative amendments, creation of association); and
  • Sessional instructor at University of Windsor – “Clients” & “Access to Justice”.
