We are currently seeking a highly organized and experienced Paralegal to join our Estates team in Charlottetown. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our lawyers in delivering efficient and compassionate service to our clients.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and review estate planning documents, including wills, powers of attorney, and health care directives;
  • Organize and update and client estates files, including maintaining wills and records according to guidelines;
  • Act as a liaison between lawyers, clients and other firms, as well as internal departments and external affiliates including government departments as requested;
  • Assume responsibility for file and document management according to firm guidelines;
  • Record all billable and non-billable functions daily;
  • Other related duties as required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a legal setting.
  • A highly motivated self-starter who has the ability to work well both autonomously and in a team environment.
  • A commitment to the highest standards of integrity, client service and collegiality.
  • Attention to detail, proven organizational skills and an effective communicator.

Cox & Palmer provides a competitive compensation and benefits package including:

  • Wage range: $45,000–$58,000, based on experience.
  • Health, dental, life, and disability insurance; Employee Assistance Program; health and fitness allowance.
  • Group Registered Savings Plan (RSP).
