St. John’s Partners Anna Cook and Kathleen M. O’Neill Named Kings Counsel
In a well deserved recognition of their outstanding legal careers, Anna cook and Kate O’Neill have been named Kings Counsel. This prestigious title is a testament to their dedication, expertise, and contributions to the legal profession.
Anna Cook
Anna Cook, a partner in the St. John’s office of Cox & Palmer, has established herself as a prominent figure in corporate and commercial law. Anna, a graduate of Dalhousie Law School, was admitted to the bar in 2000 and has been a dedicated and strategic lawyer ever since.
With over two decades of experience, Anna provides expert counsel to a diverse clientele, ranging from small business startups to large multinational corporations. Anna’s proficiency extends to commercial financings, commercial real estate, assets sales, mergers and acquisitions. Anna also specializes in fishery law, addressing business matters for both fishers and lenders. Anna’s dedication to her clients is evident not only in her strong and practical advice but also in her solution-focused approach, timeliness, and responsiveness. Anna is very much involved in the community, serving as a board member of the St. John’s Board of Trade, and regularly involves herself with the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs.
Kate O’Neill
Since being admitted to the bar in 2001 Kathleen (Kate) O’Neill has distinguished herself as an advocate and skilled litigator. A graduate of Dalhousie Law School and a St. John’s native, Kate brings passion, energy, and a love for lifelong learning to her legal practice.
Kate’s practice focuses on labour and employment matters as well as civil litigation. Her energetic and up-front communication style has enabled her to develop strong client relationships and provide robust representation. As a trained Workplace Investigator, Kate guides clients through employment and labour matters, demonstrating exceptional negotiation skills and a steadfast approach to prompt and solution-focused resolutions. Kate is deeply involved in the community of St. John’s, serving as a long-time board member of Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador.
