It is with profound sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our dear friend, brilliant colleague, and founding partner, Thomas J. O’Reilly, QC. Tom passed away on Saturday, November 16, following a brief, yet brave, medical battle. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Tom’s contributions to the firm, profession, and community were invaluable. In addition to being a founding partner, Tom was also inaugural chair of the regional board, and mentor to countless partners and associates at Cox & Palmer.
Tom was an exceptional counsel who was highly regarded in the wider legal community. He was a loyal community member who was an immense resource to various boards and organizations.
Tom was also a brilliant mind, with the kindest of hearts. He was our biggest supporter and our loudest champion, our trusted counsel and mentor. His loss is tremendous, but so was his impact.
We are absolutely privileged to have had a person of Tom’s distinction and honour representing our firm and our profession. But even more so, we are privileged to have had him as a friend and as part of our firm family. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
