Stephanie is Chair of the Board of Directors for Cox & Palmer and a partner in the St. John’s office of Cox & Palmer with over 20 years experience in the energy and offshore oil and gas industry, managing contractual and project development issues for operators. She has the knowledge and skill to effectively navigate the many legal complexities associated with the oil and gas sector and is frequently involved in creating strategic responses to the challenges her clients face in the region.
In her construction and procurement practice, Stephanie represents multi-national owners and large contractors on a regional basis where she gives strategic and practical advice to ensure that project work is done on a timely and cost effective basis. Her practice in this area includes all aspects of construction law, including Mechanics’ Liens, contractual matters and litigation. Stephanie has also handled complex corporate and commercial transactions for local and international companies, including financing in the sale and acquisition of operations and business assets, and contract review and negotiation. She was invited to be a fellow of the prestigious Canadian College of Construction Lawyers in 2017.
Stephanie has been listed as a leading practitioner by the publication Best Lawyers in the areas of Energy Law and Construction Law. She has also been recognized by Lexpert as a leading practitioner in the fields of Corporate Commercial and Construction Law. Stephanie sits as a member of the Oil and Gas Council for the province of Newfoundland & Labrador, providing strategic input and advice to the Minister of Energy NL for the continued growth of the oil and gas sector in the province.
