Peter T. Zed

Peter is a partner in the Halifax office and chair of its Corporate and Commercial Law group. He obtained his Masters in Public Administration and law degree at Dalhousie University. As a member of our regional banking & finance team, Peter is proud of the firm’s recognition as the 2024 Law Firm of the Year for Banking & Finance Law by The Best Lawyers™ in Canada. With 12 years of experience as a lawyer, Peter advises corporate clients, institutions and entrepreneurs on start-up considerations, acquisitions and divestitures, debt and equity financing transactions and other commercial matters. He is consistently ranked as a leading practitioner for his practice in Banking & Finance Law by Best Lawyers™.

Peter also counsels licensed cannabis producers and license applicants through the complex regulatory landscape surrounding legal cannabis and its derivatives. He advises on the federal regime, the Cannabis Control Act (Nova Scotia) and the provincial regimes in several provinces where his clients operate.
