As a Partner in the Halifax office, Michelle brings compassion, practicality and efficiency to her practice of family law. She works closely with our clients to assist in the negotiation and preparation of separation agreements, cohabitation and marriage contracts, adoptions, and assisted reproduction agreements.
Family issues can be complicated and emotional. Michelle is experienced in all family law issues related to parenting, support, division of assets and debts, moving with children (mobility), inter-jurisdictional disputes and considerations related to business ownership. She appears regularly between the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia Family Division and Court of Appeal.
Michelle also prepares Wills, powers of attorney, personal directives and trusts, particularly in the case of blended families, or in conjunction with cohabitation or marriage contracts.
Michelle is the current President of the Canadian Bar Association – Nova Scotia Chapter and Chair of the CBA-NS Family Law section.
