Mathieu Girouard

Mathieu is an associate in our Moncton office. He obtained his law degree at the Université de Moncton before being admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in 2016. Fluently bilingual, Mathieu is a member of our litigation team and focuses his practice on insurance, administrative, commercial litigation and health law.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mathieu summered with the New Brunswick Legal Aid Services Commission and also worked as a student with a law office acting as standing agents for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada. Mathieu subsequently worked as a Federal Crown Prosecutor before rejoining Cox & Palmer’s litigation team.

During law school, Mathieu represented the Université de Moncton in the 2015 McKelvey Cup trial advocacy competition, placing second and winning the prize for best cross-examination. He also took part in the 2015 Gale Cup, a national bilingual appellate mooting competition, where he and his team won the prize for best francophone team.

A former provincial and Atlantic tennis champion, Mathieu enjoys the outdoors and playing tennis in his spare time.
