
Ken Byrne is located in Cox & Palmer’s St. John’s office. He has a dynamic legal practice in immigration, litigation, and real property law. He often represents families in sponsoring loved ones and employers in securing employee work permits. Ken has a broad level of experience in litigation and real property litigation, spanning tax assessment appeals to the power of sales and representing subdivision developers in all aspects of bringing their properties to market.
Community involvement is important for Ken. He is a former member of several committees of the Canadian Bar Association NL Branch and prior Chair of the Civil Litigation section. He also served on the Board of Directors for Choices for Youth, the Victoria Park Foundation, and the Canadian Property Tax Association.
In 2000, Ken was the Assistant Editor for the MIT Press publication “(Daniel) Dennett’s Philosophy: A Comprehensive Assessment”.
Ken holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) and a Master of Arts (MA) from Memorial University and is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick’s Law School. Ken was admitted to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in 2008.
An avid traveller, Ken has visited Japan, the Caribbean, and most of Europe and lived in South Africa in 1999. He has walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain several times, earning two Compostelas for those long-distance hikes.
When not working, Ken can usually be found golfing or walking the Avalon barrens in search of the perfect trouting pond.
