Guy is a partner with our business law group in the Halifax office of Cox & Palmer. He has a broad-based corporate commercial practice, focusing primarily on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities, corporate governance, franchise, commercial real estate, energy, natural resources, and environmental matters.

His practice involves a wide range of transactional work, regularly advising clients across diverse business sectors in the negotiation and structuring of business acquisitions and divestitures, corporate reorganizations, debt and equity financings, commercial leasing, and franchise, securities, and environmental law compliance.

Guy has also worked on numerous complex renewable energy and natural resource projects and has expertise in negotiating various commercial agreements for such projects, including power purchase arrangements, and engineering, procurement, construction, management, and operation contracts.

Guy earned his law degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2015, after completing a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science from Saint Mary’s University. He began his career with Cox & Palmer while still a law student in 2013, and then articled with the firm from 2015-2016.

In addition to his law degree, Guy has also successfully completed the Osgoode Certificate in Canadian Securities Law and Practice and has been Chair and Vice-Chair of the CBA Nova Scotia Securities section. He is a frequent presenter on business succession planning and mergers and acquisitions.
