Christopher van Ouwerkerk

  • Chris van Ouwerkerk is an Associate Lawyer in Cox & Palmer’s Montague office. A past award-nominated touring musician, he turned his attention to education and after completing his Bachelor of Arts from Memorial University of Newfoundland (Majoring in History with a Minor in Law & Society) he turned his attention again, this time to butchery. Chris apprenticed with a Vancouver based British butcher before returning to P.E.I. and launching his own butcher shop in Charlottetown. No stranger to work, he made his way through law school, driving between Fredericton and Charlottetown on a weekly basis, before completing his Juris Doctor from the University of New Brunswick in 2017.
  • Called to the Bar in both Ontario & Prince Edward Island, Chris previously worked in Ottawa with NAV CANADA, the private entity which owns and operates Canada’s civil air navigation service and ensures the safety & efficiency of Canada’s air traffic.
  • Chris is a father and dedicated husband with deep roots in Eastern Prince Edward Island. His focus is on Wills & Estates, Corporate & Commercial Law, Real Estate, and Family Law.
