Allison Philpott is a partner with the Cox & Palmer office in St. John’s. Allison obtained her law degree from the University of New Brunswick (Juris Doctor, 2016) and was admitted to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in 2017.
Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial law in the areas of insolvency, financing, business restructuring, and M&A.
Experience
Allison is experienced in matters of corporate financing, acting for both lenders and borrowers on both a secured and unsecured basis. She is a member of Cox & Palmer’s Regional Banking Group. She also regularly advises financial institutions, insolvency professionals and companies involved in business restructuring. She has acted as counsel in CCAA, receivership and bankruptcy proceedings and on numerous business and financial matters.
Allison also regularly acts for clients in commercial transactions and advises on purchases of businesses by way of share and asset purchases, partnerships and joint ventures. She also advises clients on corporate law matters, including matters related to corporate structures and governance.
