Paul McDonald Elected Chair of Kids Eat Smart Foundation Board

Paul McDonald, a partner in our St. John’s office, has been elected Board Chair of the Kids Eat Smart Foundation Newfoundland and Labrador. Mr. McDonald was elected to this position at a meeting of the Kids Eat Smart Board held on May 31, 2010.

Kids Eat Smart Foundation Newfoundland and Labrador is a charitable organization which provides quality nutrition programs for school-age children throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. The Foundation provides breakfast, lunch and snack programs through its Kids Eat Smart Clubs, which have been established in over 200 schools throughout the province. The Foundation supports approximately 18,000 children through its nutrition programs, with the assistance of more than 5000 volunteers and generous financial support from government, the corporate community, philanthropic organizations and individuals.

Mr. McDonald is a former President of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, and is Adjunct Professor (Community Health and Humanities) with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University. His practice is focused primarily on Health Law, Estates and Trusts and Civil Litigation. In 2002, the Newfoundland and Labrador Branch of Canadian Bar Association awarded Mr. McDonald its Distinguished Public Service Award.
