Cox & Palmer’s Halifax Office Welcomes New Associates

Our Halifax office is pleased to add a new team of talented associate lawyers who exemplify our commitment to client service and are ready to help with your legal challenges.

Erin Huntington

Erin is a corporate lawyer and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2021. She holds an accounting degree from Cape Breton University and a JD from the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University. Prior to joining Cox & Palmer, Erin spent three years practicing with a small law firm in Sydney.

Leandra Bouman

Leandra is practicing commercial litigation, insurance litigation, and health law and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2024. She articled with the firm until 2024 and obtained her law degree at Dalhousie University. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor of Science at Université Laval.

Joshua Pye

Joshua is a corporate lawyer and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Science and obtained is JD, as well as a certificate in environmental law, from Dalhousie University Schulich School of law. Joshua completed his articles at an Environmental Law firm based in Toronto. He has worked in-house for municipal government as well as for a construction company.

Matthew Hardie

Matthew is a corporate lawyer and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2024. While completing his law degree he also accomplished a Masters of Business Administration from Dalhousie University, providing him with strong business acumen as well as strategic evaluation and planning skills. Matthew’s educational background enhances his legal practice and better equips him in providing exceptional counsel and value to his clients.

Paul Chudnovsky

Paul is a family law associate. He completed is J.D. at Dalhousie University and was called to the bar in 2018. Paul has been practicing almost exclusively in the area of family law since 2018 and brings a broad range of family law experience that is client focused, empathetic, and outcome driven.

Asha Pelly

Asha is practicing insurance and commercial litigation and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2024. She first joined Cox & Palmer as a summer student in 2022 and went on to article with the firm until 2024. Prior to joining Cox & Palmer, Asha obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University and earned her JD from Dalhousie University Schulich School of Law in 2023.

Miguel deMello

Miguel is a corporate lawyer and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2024. He graduated from Dalhousie University in 2015 with a Kinesiology degree and moved to Portugal where he started a health and wellness clinic with his brother who is a chiropractor. Miguel then returned to Canada and earned his law degree and Master of Health Administration at the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University in 2023.

Hannah Helm

Hannah is in the litigation group and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2024. Hannah first joined Cox & Palmer as a summer law student in 2021 and went on to article with the firm until 2024. Hannah earned her law degree from the University of New Brunswick. Prior to law school, Hannah attended Acadia University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honours. During her four years at Acadia, Hannah played varsity volleyball and is a three-time academic all-Canadian.
