Congratulations Loretta Manning, Q.C., Recently Appointed as Queen’s Counsel

Cox & Palmer congratulates their counsel, Loretta Manning, Q.C. on her recent appointment as Queen’s Counsel. The Queen’s Counsel designation is awarded each year to a select group of lawyers for their outstanding service, dedication and commitment to the legal profession in Nova Scotia.

Loretta’s practice focuses on health law and medical defence, including acting as counsel to the Canadian Medical Protective Association and its member physicians. In addition to her busy practice, she has also been involved in the administrative management of the firm. Loretta has chaired the Articling and Recruitment Committee for the Halifax office and held the portfolio of Professional Personnel Partner on the Halifax Executive Committee. She also led the firm’s diversity and inclusion initiative representing Cox & Palmer in the Law Firm Diversity and Inclusion Network. Loretta was a recipient of the Lexpert Zenith Award (2016) recognizing her work in the areas of Diversity and Inclusion, and is an elected member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society Council where she sits on multiple committees.

This appointment acknowledges Loretta’s hard work and outstanding contributions to the practice of Law in Nova Scotia.
