We are currently looking for a Property Paralegal to support our Halifax Office.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist in preparation of commercial real estate transactions.
- Prepare first draft of opinion letters, revise purchase agreements and read surveys.
- Researches and analyzes due diligence searches, property surveys, and property title documents, and orders title insurance.
- Preparation of LRA filings.
- Preparation of legal documents such as leases, purchase contracts, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and transaction books, deeds, mortgages, statements of adjustments and funds for review and approval by the assigned lawyer.
- Prepares or fulfills requirements of a real estate closing statement and assists in closing process, including management of closing funds and payouts, and preparation of post-closing reports.
- At least 2 years of experience as a property paralegal
- In-depth knowledge of commercial real estate transactions and related laws
- Ability to draft and review legal documents, such as purchase agreements, leases, and title documents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in using legal software and document management systems
- A diploma in paralegal studies or a related field is preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
