We are currently hiring a Chief Operating Officer for our Halifax Office.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESAs a result of an orderly succession, the firm is recruiting its next Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Halifax Office. This is an opportunity for an inclusive and commercially focused leader to support Cox & Palmer’s accelerated growth, service excellence, and talented team.
Reporting to the Managing Partner and Executive Committee, the COO is a key contributor to the firm and oversees administration, marketing, finance, people and culture, technology and information management, professional talent and facilities. A proactive and collaborative leader, they anticipate and plan for the firm’s evolving needs and ensure the people, structures, technology and resources are in place for growth. The COO is a self-starter, thoughtful, and proactive, adding value to the firm’s overall ability to deliver high-quality legal work and client service excellence.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate has at least 10 years’ experience as a senior leader within a corporate or professional services firm environment, with commercial and business acumen, and market knowledge. They have superior communication, presentation, relationship-building and influencing skills. They are a culture builder and have a track record of fostering high-performance teams. Knowledge of legal industry trends and regulations and experience with a law firm or professional services organization is an asset. They bring a proven track record of supporting accelerated growth & profitability.
